Fast, secure and stable dedicated network with low latency for optical fiber communications
Overview
Direct Connect (DC) enables you to establish a private connection between Tencent Cloud and your premises. DC connections bypasses the public internet and offer higher reliability, faster speeds and lower latencies than typical internet connections. In many cases, using DC can provide greater throughput with lower network cost. To use Direct Connect, you need to set up a leased line by network service provider between your premises and Tencent Cloud DC Location. Direct Connect supports industry standard 802.1q VLANs, which allows you to partition the dedicated connection into multiple virtual interfaces and set up private tunnels to different VPCs or other cloud resources. The tunnels can be reconfigured at any time to meet your changing needs.

Tencent Cloud DC supports up to 10Gbps bandwidth with one single connection line. In addition, a theoretically unlimited number of 10Gbps links can be added for network load balancing. DC can automatically distribute traffic, allowing for smoother cross-business access and operations.

The large-bandwidth network connectivity provided by Tencent Cloud DC is exclusive and highly secure. The network link is exclusive to your own businesses, so you don't need to worry about data leakage. This solution is ideal for clients that require high security levels, such as financial institutions, government agencies and large corporations.
Network Interconnection
Tencent Cloud DC supports the configuration of NAT service on the gateway, enabling you to interconnect among multiple local IDCs. IP mapping between both ends of DC as well as IP port mapping on VPC are supported, which provides a perfect solution to the problem of address conflicts when connecting to third-party networks.

Tencent Cloud DC provides you with a highly reliable SLA. In addition, it has best-in-class access availability (up to 99.5% for single-line access and 99.95% when accessing from dual line dual access point) to meet your demands for network connectivity.
Note: DC availability is that of the connection from the DC access point to the Tencent Cloud VPC, while the availability of the network connection between the access point and your IDC is provided by the ISP of the connection.
Multi-region Access
Tencent Cloud DC supports VLAN tagging. After activating VLAN on one single DC line for connection to Tencent Cloud, multiple DC tunnels can be established. These tunnels can then be connected to private networks in different regions around the globe through Tencent Cloud's three-layer MPLS network. This configuration enables secure and reliable network communication that can meet your ever-growing requirements for global deployment.
Multi-port Protocols
Tencent Cloud DC supports four types of access ports, including 100Base-T, 1000Base-T, 1000Base-LX and 10GBase-LR, and a variety of access protocols such as MSTP, SDH, OTN and DWDM, fully satisfying your wide-ranging demands for network access.
Dual Access Point
To meet the demand for highly reliable network access, Tencent Cloud DC boasts dual access point availability through which you can connect to Tencent Cloud in a large number of cities around the world. Tencent Cloud supports two DC backup configuration modes, i.e. traffic sharing (load balancing) and master/slave switch upon failure.
Network Address Translation (NAT)
Tencent Cloud DC supports the configuration of NAT service on the gateway, enabling you to interconnect among multiple local IDCs. IP mapping at both ends of DC and IP port mapping on VPC are supported, which provides a perfect solution to the problem of address conflicts when connecting to third-party networks. Three mapping methods are supported, i.e. one-to-one mapping of the source IP address and destination IP address, source address pool translation of VPC and port mapping of VPC.

Scenarios
For application scenarios where backup is required, you can realize the communications between VPC and your IDC through Direct Connect, and then back up the data through dual-line access or VPN access. The IP address range overlap between the VPC and the IDC does not affect their communications.
